Park Gate & Company Ltd is looking for an experienced Quality & Environmental Advisor to help maintain and continually improve our ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
This is a highly flexible opportunity requiring approximately three to five days per month. We are open to discussing either a part-time employed arrangement or working with an independent consultant.
The role could suit an experienced quality or environmental professional looking for a flexible position alongside other commitments, or an established consultant looking to add a long-term industrial client to their portfolio.

About the Role
The Quality Assurance & Environmental Advisor will take responsibility for supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of Park Gate’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Working with colleagues across the business, you will help ensure the management systems remain compliant, effective and relevant to day-to-day operations.
The role will include planning and completing internal audits, coordinating management reviews, supporting external certification audits and helping departments identify and implement opportunities for improvement.
Because the requirement is approximately 3-5 days each month, there is flexibility around how the role is structured and when the work is carried out.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continually improve Park Gate’s ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Plan, conduct and report on internal quality and environmental audits.
- Develop and maintain an effective internal audit schedule.
- Organise and support management review meetings, including preparing relevant reports and performance information.
- Coordinate and facilitate external certification, surveillance and recertification audits.
- Ensure policies, procedures, records and other documented information remain accurate and up to date.
- Monitor quality and environmental objectives, performance indicators and improvement actions.
- Review environmental aspects, impacts, risks and relevant compliance obligations.
- Investigate quality non-conformances, customer-related quality concerns and environmental incidents where required.
- Support root-cause analysis and the implementation of appropriate corrective and risk-reduction measures.
- Monitor agreed actions and verify that improvements have been completed and are effective.
- Provide practical advice and guidance to directors, managers and employees.
- Help promote quality, environmental awareness and continuous improvement throughout the business.
- Keep the company informed of relevant changes to ISO standards and associated requirements.
Desirable experience
The following would be advantageous but may not be essential for the right person:
- A recognised internal auditor or lead auditor qualification.
- Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, electrical or industrial environment.
- Experience maintaining environmental compliance registers and reviewing environmental legislation.
- Experience working directly with certification bodies and external auditors.
About You
We would be interested in speaking with someone who has:
- Practical experience of maintaining management systems certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Experience planning and conducting internal audits.
- A good understanding of management reviews, non-conformances, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Experience supporting external certification or surveillance audits.
- The ability to interpret ISO requirements and apply them practically within a working business.
- Strong organisational, reporting and document-control skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- The confidence to work independently while collaborating with different departments across the company.
- A practical and constructive approach to continuous improvement.
