Job Summary
Park Gate is looking for a skilled and motivated Control Panel Electrician / Control Panel Builder to join our growing team.
This opportunity would suit someone with strong practical and technical ability who takes pride in producing high-quality electrical work for industrial applications.
You’ll work primarily within our Control & Automation Department, manufacturing, assembling and wiring control panels incorporating motor controls, PLCs, variable speed drives and associated industrial control equipment.
We would also welcome applications from electricians who have transferable skills and are interested in developing their experience within control panel manufacturing.

About the job
The successful applicant will work primarily within Park Gate’s Control Panel Department, carrying out the manufacture, assembly and electrical wiring of control panels for industrial plant and machinery.
The role covers a broad range of electrical control equipment including motor controls, PLCs, variable speed drives and associated industrial control gear.
Alongside workshop-based panel manufacturing, you may also support occasional on-site electrical installation work, panel modifications and associated control-system projects.
It’s a varied position offering the opportunity to work across different industrial applications while developing your technical knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture, assemble and wire electrical control panels.
- Read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
- Wire motor control circuits, PLCs, variable speed drives and industrial control gear.
- Carry out panel modifications and associated electrical work.
- Support occasional on-site electrical installation work where required.
- Work safely and efficiently to agreed deadlines.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider Park Gate team.
About You
We’re looking for someone with good practical electrical skills, strong attention to detail and a positive approach to their work.
- Good technical and electrical wiring skills
- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail
- Experience in control panel manufacturing or industrial electrical work is ideal
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Ability to work safely and efficiently to deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Previous panel-building experience would be advantageous, but it isn’t the only route into the role. We would also like to hear from qualified electricians with transferable skills who are interested in moving into control panel manufacturing and developing their knowledge.
